What the!? Where did the time go? It's been since Monday when I last updated this blog. I've had a very busy week, and just haven't had the time to stop and write.
The week was and went very well. I only had one bad day, and thought it was going to be the end of me working at LBDC.......seriously. I had two kids who were horrible, and I mean horrible. They were cussing, running, jumping off of things, throwing blocks in the air, throwing blocks at other kids, and she even threw a block at me--almost hitting me in the face if I didn't catch it. I ended up having to call one of the kids' parents to let them know their child wasn't obeying my rules or listening to me. Yeah, it was horrible.
I came in the next day and Misty wanted to talk to me, which I was nervous and I knew what it was about; yesterday and the kids/phone call the the parent. I guess the parent told Misty that "If she can't handle my children, then she shouldn't be able to work there at the daycare." -- pssh! Excuse me!? I can handle your children, and usually her kid is good for me but today was one of those days.
Misty wasn't mad at all, in fact she even told me that the parent I called last night used to work here and she did the same exact thing one time .... so shove that up your rear lady! Misty told her that she needed to help about this situation on her end and talk with her children, and this wouldn't happen again. I didn't get in trouble though, because I have a totally understanding, super cool boss...haha.
Ahh, gotta love children!!! I'm excited because after this week (8/29-9/2) I leave to go to Vegas for a week, AND I get to have another girl working with me until 6. Yippie!! Actually I'm more excited about going to Vegas, haha. It's our very late honeymoon, and were so excited to be there.
Anyways, just wanted to update this blog more than once this week. Had a good weekend so far, and now I'm relaxing with the Hubby. I absolutely love my life and how everything seems to be in the right place.

Another wonderful day at work....no, seriously..it was wonderful. I love my job.... love, LOVE, LoVe, LOVE my job!!!!
Like on Friday, I went up to the 3 & 4 year old room and helped with snack time, cleaning up and helping the children take a nap (by rubbing their back), snuck out to get fresh air and a smoke, then came back in and was with my kids for the rest of the evening. The kids actually listened to me today, and it was fantastic!
I had about 4 kids draw and make me something nice; and I left it all down there, bummer!!! I'll get it tomorrow. The kids were super great for me, after Sabrina left. All the kids got along, had to put a few in time out but hey it wasn't too bad of a day.
The kids go back to school tomorrow, so I have to do bus duty with who ever is here with me...kinda nervous. It shouldn't be too many, but still. The thought of getting more kids off the bus and adding them to my list is going to be crazy, only because I don't know who is who yet just by looking at faces. Hopefully someone will be with me while I do this.
Ahh, I feel really rested but I can't wait to go to bed ... haha.

Well I opted out of going on the kids' last field trip with them, I was just too exhausted. I sent Misty a message last night around 7ish and told her I was coming in at 11am instead of 9, and wondered where I should go since my kids were going to be on the field trip. She told me that I was going to be with the 3 & 4 year olds until they come back from the field trip. I was super stoaked, different age groups instead of having the same routine everyday.
On my way to work, I got a message from Misty saying: "Change of plans. You need to go into the baby room until noon, then go with Miss Paula with the 3&4 year olds until we come back." This also made me super excited cuz then I was going to be with the wittle babys for a while. =]
I clocked in and made my way to the baby room, there was 5 babies in there; 4 boys and 1 girl. It was almost their lunch time and we ended up playing for about 20 more minutes. One of the other workers started to get each baby and change them before they ate, while another worker put their food out on the table, and I watched the other ones. Finally we got all the babies changed and put them in their seats to eat their lunch. 3 of the babies ate well, not a peep out of them, while the other 2 were hysterically crying and throwing a fit. It was horrible, I hate seeing babies upset and crying. It was getting close to their nap time as well, so they were extra cranky.
We cleaned up the babies and gave them a bottle and put them in their cribs. The 2 boys who were throwing a fit while eating, were also throwing a fit while they were in their crib. I was 11:50 and Miss Paula called down to tell me to come up. So I made my way up to the 3 & 4 year old room.
I went upstairs and entered the room, and the kids were just put down for a nap. I waved to Miss Paula, and put my purse down in the kitchen. She told me to help rub the kids' backs to help them go to sleep. After we finished and got the kids to sleep, she let me go and grab something to eat while they were napping. Once again, I snuck out of the room, and walked outside. I walked to my car and grabbed my pop; that I left in there by accident this morning; and grabbed a smoke. I was only gone for about 7 minutes, but it was nice to be outside and have a smoke after the craziness from this morning.
I came back into the 3 & 4 room, and sat with Miss Paula. The kids' nap time is from 11:30-1:30/2 so we took the opportunity to get to know each other and talk about what she does in her room. It was nice having quiet time for once, and just really getting to sit down and relax for a while.
After their nap time, the kids were allowed to play lightly before it was snack time. The kids got a little rough and loud but all in all it was good. We had the kids sit at the table, while Miss Paula and I got their snack together and ready. Snack time went well, could've been better but it was alright.
The kids went and played again while we cleaned the table and ran the sweeper, then I was called to go back downstairs with my normal set of kids. As I came down Miss Gina already had the kids sitting in their seats, waiting to get their snacks. Miss Gina talked to the kids before giving their snacks out. Basically she told all the children that they are to listen to me from now on, because of the mishap yesterday with no one listening to me.
After snack time was cleaned up and the kids were playing again, Gina left me. Misty was back in the building because she had an interview. Misty came back in and told me that Miss Clorissa would be working with me until 6 on Monday-Wednesday-and Fridays, and Tuesdays and Thursdays she would be here as well. Misty wants another worker with me at night time, just so I could have the extra hand if needed. I was able to talk to her for a while, and let her know what goes on and how things sort of work around here, didn't get into too much detail because it was getting hectic in the room.
When Clorissa left, it was just me and 13 kids, which wasn't bad because they were actually listening. At one point I had a kid run out of the room and go upstairs with his Mom, the same kid came back into the room and was playing with cardboard boxes. I told him to not play with them because he could get someone hurt. Within the minutes I told him that I had 3 parents coming in to get their kid, and they were all looking for their water bottles and shirts they made earlier; and the kid hits a little girl in the mouth with the boxes. I heard the kids yell "Teacher, teacher!" I turned around and grabbed her, and when I looked at her, her mouth was bleeding, like all over her face. I told the kid to go sit on the chair, told the parents I would be right back, and went and got Becca. She helped cleaned her up and gave her a popsicle, I came back into the room and told the little boy who hit her "This is why I told you not to play with the boxes." He threw a fit and told me he told her he was sorry, but I told him he has to sit for his punishment. Meanwhile, one of the parents left and told another parent they would get their stuff on Monday, and I was trying to find everyones stuff. I couldn't find their tshirts they made so I told them on Monday to get them.
Then I had to fill out an accident report. Scary. I finally filled it all out and made everyone clean up, because they tore the place to pieces. I told them I would be watching to see who was doing the best, and they would get a surprise. Well low and behold I had like 3 to 4 other children come in the room and it wasn't fair to not give them the same thing so I had everyone sit down. As I gave them their pixi sticks I had them sit at the table to eat them.
Such a hectic day, but way better than yesterday. TGIF!!!!

Yet another beautiful day at work. The kids were acting good, listening to what they were supposed to be doing, so really I couldn't complain. Since we didn't get to take the kids on the field trip, we were able to take them down to the park.
We ended up leaving for the park at 1:30ish, Lura and I took the kids, and I lugged along a kids fold-n-pack carrier that held everyone's water. We had to make a few corrections to the kids, for jumping/walking on the people's grass but other than that it was good. The entire walk down to the park it was cloudy, not too hot. As soon as we got to the park, it became miserably hot. Mind you I was in dark jeans (didn't think we'd be going anywhere today), and was helping kids across the monkey bars, and the slider thing (not sure what it is called. lol).
When it was time to get everyone in line to go back to LBDC, we had a problem with two children. They didn't want to be partners to walk back to LBDC, and threw a huge fit! To the point to where we almost had to call Misty. It was horrible. The two boys didn't want to stand together, side-by-side and walk back to the center. As soon as we got back, we had to put one of the kids (who was the one complaining the most) in time out. He wasn't very happy with that.
Lura and I set up the snack for everyone, and made the kids sit in their seats and passed everything out to them. Lura was scheduled to leave at 3/3:30, but she stayed with me and helped me do snack time, because I've never done it before. (I'm so thankful for how much Lura has done for me.) After we got the snacks and tables cleaned up, which was 4:30, Lura left. After snack time the kids have free play until it's time for them to leave (which could be anywhere from 4:30-6+).
Everything was going fine, until two kids wouldn't listen to me, and it seemed as all the kids were having a huge melt-down. At this point it was 4:50, and I almost had a melt-down myself because no one was listening to me. I had no choice but to text Misty and let her know what was going on. I told her: "OMG, no one is listening to me" to which she replied: "Get Becca, I'm at the Weirton center and am on the way." I was relieved that she was on her way, and I opened the baby door to the baby's room, and told Becca "I need your help, no one is listening to me and I'm going crazy." Becca came out and sat one of the children down in a chair, and punished her for me since she wasn't listening to me. After Becca went back into the room, the girl started to cry. I was beyond frustrated, but kept it under control. About 10 minutes later Misty walked through the room.
She sat down by the little girl and told her "No matter who the evening teacher is, you must listen to what she says. The rules still apply no matter who is watching you and the other kids." After the talk, Misty stayed with me and helped me with the kids, since they were out of control. She let me go home early, since I was there since 9am.
I must say, today was good, but then turned horrible. I thought that it was going to break me and make me not come back tomorrow. I was in such a bad mood at first after I walked out of the door, but realized that it was ok to feel this way, and they were only acting like this because I was the "new" teacher. I love all of my kids, even if they treat me like poop...haha.

I
was asked to come along again on another field trip, and this time it was to go to the Krispy Kreme Doughnut store! We ended up having 31, including the boss's, kids plus 4 workers to go today and had to take 3 different vehicles to get there. I was with Lura (yes thats how she spells her name, and yes it's pronounced just like mine haha) and 5 boys. Misty had 21 kids on the bus and Sabrina had 5 kids with her.
We went to the one in Washington PA, and it was a blast. We separated the kids into two groups, and we all got to take a tour of the entire doughnut shop to see how they actually make the doughnuts. I was in charge of opening the door for the kids after they made their doughnuts. (Yes, they actually got to dip their doughnut in chocolate, and them throw them in a big tub of sprinkles, awesome... yes!) It was so tempting to just take a freshly made doughnut off of the conveyer belt I was standing by, but I didn't, lol.
After we got all the kids through the line, let them eat their doughnuts and drink their juice, we loaded them all back up in the cars and went down to the park. When they were finished with their lunches, they were allowed to go play in the park. We stayed there for about an hour or so before we loaded them back up again and came back into LBDC.
I don't know if it was because they had a sugar rush from the doughnuts so early in the morning, but when we got back the kids were horrible....HORRIBLE! For the rest of the evening they were just plain rotten. From not listening, to hitting, throwing, running, etc. Misty decided to cancel the next days trip to the museum because the kids were horrible.
All in all it was a good day. Love working there =]

Last night I went to bed around 11:30... well not actually to bed, but went and laid in bed and ended up reading a few chapters on my romance novel. I read for about a hour or so, and decided it was time to actually "go to bed". After wresting with myself to try to get cozy and comfy for about 10 minutes; I finally ended up falling asleep. Remind you, it is now 12:50am and I have to get up at 7am to get ready for work.
After finally getting to sleep, I then wake up at 1:45am....wide awake. Really??? I know I am no where near awake enough to stay up any later, shit my eyes were closing on me a little bit while I was reading my book; haha. So I grabbed Jazzy (our pug) and re-arranged her up next to me and cuddled with her. It took me about another half hour to fall back asleep!!! I just don't understand it, I was tired at around 10, went to bed at 12:50 and then wake up out of nowhere acting like I'm not tired. Maybe it was the first-day-on-the-job-jitters? Or maybe I really wasn't all that tired as I thought. Eh, no one will ever know!
I woke up at around 7:10am, and boy was I TIRED! (Who would've thought, right!? lol) I stumbled out of bed and made my way upstairs. I met my dad in the kitchen and he was just about to leave to go to work himself. My dad is so cute! He left me a note hanging on the wall saying:
"Have a good first day at your job. Remember to smile and act yourself, you will do fine. Love you, Dad"
^ How freaking adorable is that!? I love him so much!!
We chatted for a few before he left to go to work and I got in the shower. I got out of the shower, and hear a knock on the bathroom door...Chris was home for work!! I finished getting dressed, and was super happy to see him before I went to work. He ended staying up with me while I dried my hair and we both went downstairs. I had to change into work clothes, and he was changing into pj's. It was so sad, I just wanted to get back in bed with both of them, but I couldn't. I tucked my hubby and Jazzy into the blankets and gave them both a kiss. It wasn't time for me to leave just yet, but Chris was tired and I felt bad for keeping him up as long as I had already.
I went back upstairs and made myself some breakfast; toast with cinnamon sugar lol. I ate my breakfast and watched some TV, and by the time I was finished I had enough time to have a smoke, brush my teeth and get some things ready for work.
I left for work around 8:40am, as it only takes me not even 5 minutes to get to work haha. I clocked in at 8:53 (see I told you it didn't take me long to get there, oh and plus I had one last smoke before going in too).
I went in and Sabrina was the only one there so far, so she showed me some ropes and how she does things. I really wasn't showed too much, as we were going on a Field trip in like 7 minutes, haha. About 3 minutes later, Gina rolled in. Gina and I were put together for the day. Since we had a total of 31 kids (the most kids that they had at once so early in the morning), Gina and I took 18 of them as the first group to the Zoo. The reason why we had to divide them up into two groups was because we didn't have a big enough bus to take them all in. Yes, we did take a short bus...hahaha.
Any ways, it usually only takes about half hour to get to the zoo, well we went the detour and was stuck in so much traffic it was ridiculous. What ended up being a half hour drive took almost an hour and a half to get there.
We finally arrived and got everyone off the bus, checked in, and paid for. We made our way down the steps and made a "potty" stop before we headed out. After everyone was done, we divide our group of 16 into two groups, 8 in each, so we could keep a better head count of the kids. I had my group, and Misty led her group and we followed her. The kids, to my surprise weren't too bad...yet. We made it to the birds, where you actually get to go and hold the birds, where all it went downhill. The kids were touching everything in the little store we had to go through before the birds, they weren't listening to anyone nor the instructions they were given (which were, do not tough/chase/or step on the birds; cuz they were walking around on the ground.) Wouldn't you know it....every little one of them were chasing, not watching where they were walking and trying to pick them up. You aren't supposed to pick them up because they will bite, so we had to get them out of there ASAP or we would've gotten kicked out haha.
Finally we got every ones hand washed, and was out the door. Gina then had the kids go run/play the extra energy they had on the playground. Halleluiah!!! It was starting to get hot out and it was a nice break from the heat to actually sit down in shade!!!! Gina and I talked for about 25 minutes or so, which was nice. I got to know her better and vise versa. Misty (my boss) was leaving Follansbee at the time to come to where we were, which would take about 40 minutes. So we gathered up our groups and took them to the next part, which was the otters and some kind of bear. It had two sections, so we both went to both of the sections and then swapped kids to let them see what they hadn't seen yet.
Misty was on her way with the kids, so we had about 20 minutes until she arrived. We stayed where we were at for a while, and then finally gathered the kids up and started walking back to the front of the zoo. Misty had already dropped the kids off, that she was bringing, up at the picnic tables so we could all eat lunch. We took the kids and had them sit on the steps to wait for Misty. After 5 minutes, Misty pulled up and we loaded the kids onto the bus and went to the picnic tables. We let the kids out first to go get their seats, and Sabrina, Gina, and I got all of the kids' lunch out of the bus. We passed out everyone's lunch, and surprisingly we had no melt downs, while they were waiting. The only problem was, is that one child forgot to bring a lunch. Misty and Sabrina went down to the zoo and they got their lunch, as well as mine and the one child that forgot his.
After all the mess of figuring out who was who, well for me anyways while passing out lunches, the kids started to get ornery....and I mean really ornery. Not listening to us to stay seated, jumping, standing on tables, squealing at a poisonous caterpillar; you name it, it happened.
After we ate our lunch, we brought all the kids back to the zoo, and we traded groups. So instead of going with my group, I had to stay with the second group...and walk the zoo again lol. We ended up taking the kids on the train, and we just made it. We had to split up the kids, so they were scattered all over the train starting from the beginning to the end of the train. It was a success because none of the kids fell off, haha...jk! In all honesty it was a success, just because everyone stayed seated, with their hands and feet in the entire ride. Oh and the train ride sucked. We saw only 3 animals the entire ride, and we saw them twice because we had to go back through the way we came. I was disappointed, because when I was a kid there was so much more to look at. Ahh, anyways. It was getting hotter out and we were about halfway through the zoo, when it seemed as if everyone was about to have a melt down. A little girl tripped and fell over some other little girls shoe and scraped her elbow. OMG. This little girl screamed/cried/balled/wined for a good half hour. Sabrina told me to get use to her because she is a big drama queen, and she will just ball and make a scene all day if she could. No doubt her elbow hurt, but not to the extent of how long she cried for. So that was annoying, big time.
The bus ride home was fairly good, the kids were being alright, for once, and we finally got some down time and silent-ness lol. We got back to LBDC at around 3:44 and by this time it was snack time, and then the kids could play for the rest of the evening.
Second day wasn't too bad, and I still enjoy it!
Happy Blogging =]
Alright, so I will more than likely be blogging during the evening/night hours ... or at least these next few blogs will be written at that time anyways.
I got a phone call from my boss this morning, asking me to come in to do some paperwork and to discuss my work schedule. I over-excitedly tossed my phone on the floor and told my Hubby the good news. I was expecting a phone call from her today anyways, but I wasn't expecting it this soon.
I promise that it was the fastest I've ever got a shower and finished getting ready than ever before. Super excited you ask? YES! My Husband, Chris, even made a comment about how fast I got ready; so you know it was fast when he says something about it.
I arrived at work about 1:15ish, give or take a few; I really don't remember the time. You know, it would seem as if me and my boss have been friends forever; prior to meeting her two weeks ago. I'm telling you, my boss is awesome! Anyways, we started to go over all the paperwork, what I need to fill out and bring back, things I need to get and bring back in, how long I have to get certain things done (like CPR/First aide training, etc.), and went over my schedule and where I would be working. It didn't feel as if the time was flying by, but after we finished talking, hand some interruptions, and basically bullshitted for a while; I ended up getting out of there around 3:30. Hell, I didn't even realize what time it was until I got home, which is super funny. It's funny because I pass a huge clock by the bank on the way home, I also have a clock in my car that I didn't even notice the time, AND I checked my cell phone before I began to drive home...I guess I was just too excited. I get to start my first official day of work tomorrow at 11am!!!
After coming home and informing Chris all the good news I got, and showing him all the goodies I had to fill out/get; we had to go and grab some gas or else he wouldn't make it to work tonight, and I wouldn't make it to work tomorrow. As we pulled in to the gas station, my phone rang. I usually don't answer phone calls from numbers I don't know; but considering that it was from a local number I decided to answer it.
GOOD THING I DID!!!
It was Misty, my boss calling me. Instead of going in at 11 tomorrow, she asked me if I wanted to come in at 9am and go on the field trip to the zoo tomorrow morning.... HECK YES! First day of work and I get to go to the zoo, who can say that!? ME!!! Hahaha.
I'll be in the shower tomorrow morning when Chris gets home and will be getting breakfast and then I'll have to leave, which kind of sucks. It'll only suck because I will miss cuddling with him when he climbs into bed; that's something I love. Especially when he works overnights and comes to snuggle with me in the morning, sooo cute!!
Any who, there really isn't anything else to blog about that was the exciting part(s) of my day. I'm pretty sure tomorrow will be another full blog of what goes on at my first day at work!
Happy Blogging =]
Ahh, yet another sleepless night for me. Hubby is on overnights for the next 3 days; awesome. Now that he is a Manager he HAS to do overnights every once in a while, mainly to set up mods for the next holiday; and to re-arrange the department for more inventory to go out. Which I can't really complain, because he used to be on overnights for weeks upon weeks at times, really got annoying and just missed my husband being home with me. You know how it is sleeping alone after having him right there with you for so long, it isn't a fun time. So it looks like I will be up for a while.
Any who, it seems as if everything is starting to come together for us lately, just like a puzzle. I finally landed a job and couldn't be more excited about it than I already am. Even though the job isn't what I went for school for, I don't really mind at all. Working with children has always been my passion, ever since I could remember; and now I get the opportunity to actually work with children. I am planning on going back to school to become a Preschool teacher, sooner or later; haha. Right now isn't the right time to go back to school, as were looking for our own house and just really trying to save up for the future. Back to my job, I don't think I've ever been so excited about a job in my entire life, besides this one. I think because mainly it's working with children, and I adore children. I get my schedule for work tomorrow, woo hoo! My boss is the most awesome boss ever! Such a laid back person, and really understanding. Can't wait to start work!
Our 1 year wedding anniversary is coming up on August 21st, 2010!! I still can't believe that it has been a year already, where has the time gone!? It seems just like yesterday we met and was starting to date. My oh my, those were the good ole days.
Any who, we are going on our very very very late honeymoon in September. Yippie, I can't wait!! Where else to spend our honeymoon at other than Las Vegas!!! We both have never been there before and we have soo much that we want to do while we are there. Also my parents are coming along with us too, since it is their gift to us. No biggy, it's not like we are all going to stay in the same hotel room or anything, haha; which that would be really really funny to see. I think that it is awesome that they are coming with us (yeah I know, what am I thinking, right!?!?)
In all reality they are the best parents I could ever ask for. They have done so much for us within the last few years, I honestly wouldn't know what we would do without them. =]
Well this post ended up being much longer than expected, and that's alright!! Can't wait to continue this blogging journey!
